  Bellydance is a demanding physical exercise that tones the core muscles as it improves conditioning.  Heart-rate and breathing rate are increased with Bellydance for sustained periods of time which is the key to cardio-vascular fitness.  Bellydancing also improves posture and alignment.

Pre-Natal Bellydance- Pregnant women in ancient cultures have used Bellydancing as a way of preparing for a healthy birth. Modern day doctors agree that the actions of certain Bellydance moves mirror perfectly the actions women utilize to give birth. Historically, Bellydancing was only performed in groups of women. Among Bedouin Arabs, girls are taught a pelvic dance to prepare for the physical marathon of childbirth.
